| General Notescast Install Instructions |
Compatible with the iPod Classic, iPod Video (5th
Generation) and iPod Nano 3rd and 4th Generation. Compatible with both Windows
and Macintosh formatted iPods.
The General Install Process for most Notescast titles is as easy as 1, 2, 3…
1) Order and download your choice of Notescast to your hard drive, and make a note of its location.
2) Use iTunes to enable your iPod to act as a hard drive – You’ll find this at the base of the screen under the “Summary” tab…
|
3) Copy or Drag and Drop the “(Your Choice of Title) Notescast” and “Photos” folders contained in the download from your
computer into the “Notes” folder on your iPod via your File Manager. Note: If you do not have a "Photos" folder as part of your download, then your selected Notescast does not contain any photos, and you can disregard any references below to the Photos folder.
Once
copied into your Notes folder, the “Photos” folder and the “(Your Choice of Title) Notescast” folder will appear as sub-folders of your iPod’s Notes
folder.
Eject your iPod, scroll to "Extras" and then "Notes" to experience your Notescast on your iPod!
NOTE:
If you have already downloaded a previous Notescast title, then open
the Photos folder and copy only the individual photos from the “Photos” folder (Not the folder itself) into the
“Photos” folder already on your iPod. i.e. Into the Photos folder
displayed below.
|
NOTE: There is another Photos folder on the main iPod
menu, but it is not involved in this process, and you do not copy
Notescast photos to this folder.
If you'd like more detailed information on each step above, see the instructions below:
DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
Compatible
with the iPod Classic, iPod Video (5th Generation) and iPod Nano 3rd
and 4th Generation. Compatible with both Windows and Macintosh formatted iPods.
STEP ONE:
Order
and download the Notescast to a
location on your hard drive. Make a note of this location, as you'll
access it under Step 3.
The file will contain two folders:
- "(Your Choice of Title) Notescast" - "Photos"
Note: If your download does not contain a "Photos" folder, then this means the Notescast you selected does not contain any photos. You may disregard any reference to the "Photos" folder below.
STEP TWO:
Enable your iPod to act as a hard drive. If your iPod is already enabled as a hard drive, then skip this step.
A. Connect your iPod to your computer B. Once iTunes opens, select your iPod under Devices in the Source List C. Click the Summary tab D. Click the "Enable Disk Use" checkbox in the Options section.
STEP THREE:
Copy the "(Your Choice of Title) Notescast" files to your iPod via your File Manager.
1.
Open your File Manager (i.e. Windows Explorer or Macintosh Finder) and
locate the "(Your Choice of Title) Notescast" and “Photos” folders you
extracted to your hard drive under Step 1.
2. Using your File Manager, click on your iPod and locate the iPod’s “Notes” folder.
3.
Copy the "(Your Choice of Title) Notescast" and "Photos" folders into the
iPod's "Notes" folder. When finished, these two folders should be sub-folders of the iPod's
"Notes" folder.
NOTE: If you already have a pre-existing
"Photos" folder within the "Notes" folder of your iPod, then copy only
the individual photos from the Notescast "Photos"
folder (Not the folder itself) into the pre-existing "Photos" folder
within Notes. Note that your iPod comes with a “Photos” folder
displayed as a default within the “Main” or “Extras” menu, but this
folder is not involved with this process.
4) Open iTunes and eject your iPod.
Now scroll to your new Notescast within the Notes folder of
your iPod, and enjoy!
